In this unit you wil learn about places to go, how to get there and how to use the verb [ir].
Places to go
Modes of transportation
To express you are going by car, taxi or by bike in Spanish you say:
Voy en coche.
Voy en taxi.
Voy en bicicleta (en bici).
The one exception to the use of “en” in front of the mode of transportation is when you want to say you go on foot. Notice that in English we also say I am going by car, bus, bike, etc. Every mode of transportation except on foot is by car, by bus, by bike, but when we say you are walking you say I am going on foot.
In Spanish we say I am going on foot like this:
Voy a pie.
